I was employed by Mio GPS from 2007 until 2012. During this period Mio was one of 30 brands with GPS-systems on the market. As sales manager for the Netherlands my approach to stay ahead of the competition was pertinent and pro-active. My work was varied and ranged from developing in-store presentations to managing salespeople. My biggest triumph was building a team that gave sales demonstrations in retail stores. The synergy between the brand, the promoter and retail staff gave Mio a market percentage of 20% for a long period of time. Although this was less than TomTom, Mio was ahead of other major brands like Navigon and Garmin.
Reference from Paul Notteboom – CEO at Mio:"I remember the day I hired Alain for a sales function in NL. A gentle and open-minded person, looking for a challenge. Well, he did not disappoint! Alain very well developed the market and could bring in targeted accounts. Business development and building long term relationships are one of his strong points. Alain is a driven person and not afraid to face challenges, on top he is also a pleasant colleague."
